Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Japan and discover Kōdō, the traditional Japanese art of incense appreciation. Kōdō means consciously perceiving the subtle fragrance of precious woods and enjoying it with all the senses — a unique cultural experience full of calm, mindfulness, and aesthetic refinement.
This special workshop is led by Kōdō master Kosai Hayakawa. As a member of the Kyorinbou School Kafukai, she offers an authentic introduction to this centuries-old Japanese tradition.
After a brief introduction to the origins and history of Kōdō, we will experience the incense ceremony together and become acquainted with a variety of precious fragrances. Afterwards, we will create our own scented sachets for you to take home. Matcha will be served to conclude the evening.
